PKB is an amazingly compact DataBase application designed to quickly allow you to store comments, notes, and text documents in one place, group them by categories, and perform later search by argument or keyword. You can also add links (pointers) to any kind of files in your PC. These links can also be URLs. So you can make PKB the focal point of your projects, or even your master catalog as well. PKB does not install or expand in multiple files, and it doesn't write anything to the registry. You can run it straight forward from any directory of your choice. In case you have text files with long listings that you would like to extract certain lines from, Xtractor may help you a lot. It is a fast tool that will automatically select specific records (lines) from any text file and save the output to a new file of your choice. Selection criteria will be to include or exclude lines based on the logical combination of any two text strings (arguments), and/or the presence of a given string starting at a specific column number. Very handy. |
